PROGRAM INFORMATION

SUMMER INTENSIVE

FULL TIME | 2 - 4 WEEKS

Training for the Industry
by the Industry

Every summer, IAMT opens its doors to high school performers from all over the world to get an inside look at the elite training we offer.

We believe that in addition to having a ton of fun at a summer program, the level of training should be top-notch and our faculty is among the absolute best in the country. That includes working with Tony Award-nominated Broadway producer, 3x Broadway performer and IAMT owner and director, Michael Minarik and the mix of current Broadway dance captains, choreographers and performers on our faculty.

In addition to our training, you will also get the opportunity to sing for a NYC Casting Director and talent agent. This provides invaluable feedback, no matter what stage you're at with your training. At our 2025 Summer Intensive, we had 4 students signed for representation!

Come and invest your summer in your future at IAMT! And check out the Scholarships information below to learn about the new Cassie Donegan Emerging Artist Scholarship!

Please note - the Summer Intensive is focused on training and there is no final showcase or performance.

The Summer Intensive is run the same way that we run the Professional Training Program. Students will work with the same Broadway-level faculty in all classes including: Voice, Acting, Ballet, Musical Theatre Dance, Jazz Funk, Contemporary, Tap, Audition Technique and more. Past masterclasses have been with Jeremy Jordan, Corey Cott, Laura Osnes, Carolee Carmello, Megan McGinnis, Scott Wojick, Merri Sugarman, Derek Klena and many more.

The Summer Intensive has rolling admissions that opens on September 1 and we encourage you to apply as early as possible. We anticipate the program will fill up some time in May.

In 2026, the Summer Intensive will run July 6th through July 31st. You can also sign up for either the first 2 weeks or the last 2 weeks for a shorter session.

The last day to sign up for dorm housing is Friday, May 29th.

The program also includes tickets to a Broadway show with a possible talkback with a cast member after the show.

We accept students who have completed 8th grade and no more than one year of college study. There is no specific performance level requirement, though an online audition is required.

We want to emphasize that this is the same level of training that our full-time students undergo. It is not a casual, "camp" atmosphere. There is no phone usage during class and it does require a high level of attention, effort and focus.

If you have any concerns about any of the above, we encourage you to talk to our Admissions department to make sure that it's the right choice for you.

Your submitted online audition must include:

  • Headshot
  • Resume
  • 1 introductory video
  • 1 singing video
  • 1 dancing video
  • $25 application fee (waived if also applying to the Professional Training Program)

We offer two options:

  • Two-week program: $2,500
  • Four-week program: $4,000

We also offer dorm-based housing. Note that the dorm pricing is the same whether you only attend the two-week program or all four weeks. Pricing is set for dorm housing in the spring but was $2350 last summer for reference.

The dorm housing is provided at The Towers at CCNY. You can find more details for accommodations at their website.

We are thrilled to announce the first annual Cassie Donegan Emerging Artist Scholarship. Cassie Donegan, 2026's Miss America, is proud to support the next generation of performers through an exclusive scholarship opportunity! This prestigious award covers full tuition for our 4-week Summer Intensive at IAMT plus a $1,000 housing credit!

You can apply for the scholarship by completing a Summer Intensive application before April 15! (Note that the scholarship is only available for students who can attend all 4 weeks of the Intensive.)

In addition, we can also recommend these opportunities:

The Empire State Arts Scholarship is through the New York Department of Education for NY state residents only, but many states have similar programs.
